What was the final straw? You'd have to assume the lifeless play in the past month+ 9-23 since the end of May. The team looks bad. The feeling around the team is bad.
More tomorrow later tonight. Too much to wait until tomorrow but you know I got kids stuff to do right now

ReplyDeleteTo portend that this was a baseball move is crazy talk. Lerners have been pissed that Rizzo spoke out about how cheap they are and were waiting for the political capital to make a move. There is nothing scarier than to think that the Lerners will be executing a GM hire. Internal promotion seems likely, because that is what you do when you don’t have a clue…

This next 5-7 years is going to be tragic. They need to sell ASAP.
Firing Martinez would’ve been one thing, but firing rizzo tells me they DO want to win. Why would they fire the GM if not? That’s the positive way I look at it.

I saw a good fan theory that Lerners asked Rizzo to fire Davey and Rizzo refused, so they both got sacked
