In order to a...I had a different scenario in mind. In order to assuage opposition to the new stadium, Councilman (former Mayor-for-Life) Marion Barry is selected to throw out the first pitch. He rears back, and makes a lousy throw to Livan Hernandez on the mound. The ball is five feet wide, and rolls to a stop on the infield grass, as the whole stadium laughs at Barry's ineptitude. Barry -- never a great exemplar for taking responsibility -- is convinced that Livan could have caught it, but chose not to.
