For those that can't sleep

What can you say?  Storen blew it. The offense is doing incredibly poorly.  The latter set up the former but both are failures. One is immediate and heart-breaking. The other is slow and soul-sucking.

On to SF.

Well at least we can expect the bats to get it going in that park and with a bum on the mound!

  3. One of those times I hate to be right, but allow me to repost what I wrote last Monday:

"My only concern right now is offense. We have averaged less than 3.5 runs/game over the past two weeks (not counting the two scrub games), which is not terrible but isn't great either. If our pitching stays this hot it obviously won't matter, but that's a lot of pressure to put on a rotation without much of a postseason track record."

Of course, little did I imagine that we would fail to score more than three runs TOTAL in the first two games.

  4. Grueling.

It is the only way to describe standing up for 18 innings. Too smoked to point fingers. We would have to win 3 no matter what. We'll just have to do it in a different order.

  8. 2 one-run losses are hard to swallow. But like I said in my other post, we were in the same spot vs cincy in 2012. Series is not over yet. As a giants fan, i was happy to just take one in DC. Every gm has been close and I expect it to be this way for the rest of the series. Hoping Madbum finishes it on monday, but expecting a hard fight from u guys. Playoff baseball is amazing.

  9. "J. Zimm gas gotten 26 outs. I think it's time for a change." Ugh.

  10. Not Storen, Not Zimmermann... not anyone throwing the ball. This is on the offense, period. Maybe the fears about playoff pitching are really just true... with no bona fide stars (and Zim on the bench getting 1 AB per game) the Nats just don't have enough firepower to get it done against the best. We beat up on bullpens all year...

Happy birthday Tanner Roark, if you give up one run the game is OVER! I really feel for that guy.

@John Utah aren't you that guy that lost the sugar bowl? What do you know about winning in high pressure situations?
