G5 Evening Post
For those that would like to comment during the game on here... I guess I should look into a chat client or something. I don't know. That seems like work.
Just pizzes me off how these little wormy pitchers can totally handcuff a supposedly productive lineup. Stranding runners on third base -- or worse, making the third out at home plate, or in Werth's case, ten feet short of home plate-- will bite you every time.
Of course, it would have helped if the blankety blanking ump had called a couple of balks on that fat faced punk pitcher. I cannot believe Davey Lopes and Dusty weren't screaming bloody murder about it. But hey, if they're going to let their team get screwed with no protest, why should I wake up the neighbors yelling at the TV?
Guys - as I sit here watching the top of the ninth, a few things puzzle me that will cost us this game. (...total invite to eat CROW, make it happen Nats...)
1. Why send Werth? Harold Reynolds said it was aggressive, I call it stupid. Stupid loses 100% of the time, all the time. 2. Why send Sherzer out in the 7th? Pederson hits lefties at a .120 clip - i.e. don't be stupid, put in Zep/Solis/Perez and play the odds in your favor. Max did pitch a great game though. Good enough to win. 3. Why not steal against Jansen in the 7th or 8th? Especially with Drew. Baffled by that. Taylor should have just waived off the at-bat and K'd himself instead of us having to watch it play out over 3 min.
I'm sure there will be more to come, but please for the love of god - just lose because the Dodgers are better than you. Stop shooting yourself in the foot. (again, make me eat CROW)
I'm gonna barf.

Doesn't look like Kelly was even ready. And what a performance by Rzepseksnkyzzz.
ReplyDeleteAm I crazy or did Dave Roberts make a second visit to the mound in the seventh? And is so, doesn't he need to make a pitching change for Jansen?
ReplyDeleteI know I'm just talking to myself here, but if Michael A Taylor ever gets another at-bat with the Nats I will eat my hat.

The friggin'joke offense that was so prevalent the season was in full bloom tonight. Not clutch. Built for early offseason golf...
ReplyDeleteYeah... I don't like crow anyways. Screw you Nats. "Maybe next year?" (pathetic mickey mouse voice)
ReplyDeleteOwww. This is a straight punch to the gonads.
