Been a while

The team gets the coverage they deserve.

NRI's out today

Generally only RP kids will make the OD roster if the pieces fall into place (injuries, awesome spring, spots open) so maybe a Marquis Grissom Jr?

The rest of the NRIs that are kids are for them getting a taste of major league talent and the guys upstairs to get a sense of how these guys fare against said talent before sending them back down.

The NRIs that aren't kids have a chance to make it as last man in the bench types or just regular relief arms bc those are always in demand.

This won't be the final list and there could (should) be some signings in Feb that have a much better chance of making the team a la Jesse Winker last year.

  1. We saw with James Wood last year that no level of ST success will result in a prospect forcing their way on to the OD roster ahead of schedule.

House, Lile, Pinckney, Morales, Wallace, Susana - as you say, this is nothing more than an opportunity for them to get some quasi major league experience when the stakes are very low. To get coaching and be evaluated by the ML staff. To be on the same field as very famous players and get used to that idea.

I think for most of us fans, tracking our glimpses of prospects is the most enjoyable part of Spring Training, but there's very little information gained if any.

My baseline is that I don't expect any non-injury impact from ST at all but, if there is, it will be something we barely care about like Acosta beating out La Sorsa and the implications of Ferrer being the only left handed reliever.

And I guess we'll find out if Parker is optioned or converted or if they roll with 6. But the team already knows their plan if all 6 starters are healthy, so that won't really be new information even if it's new to us.
