Tigers
Part of me wants to root for the Tigers the rest of the way. The other part of me cannot stand another round of "POOR DETROIT NEEDS THIS!!!!" talk. Right now the first part is stronger. Make your move, media.
I know this doesn't relate, but I wanted to respond to an earlier post. No, most dual-fans in the DC area are not Orioles-Nationals fans. In fact it's quite the opposite. Most Nationals fans really embrace a pretty strong dislike of the Orioles, and likewise Orioles fans of the Nationals. However they do seem to wish each other well. Which seems counter-intuitive because they are always celebrating when the others lose. I think it pretty much boils down to most Nats fans are formerly O's fans that became frustrated with the O's and jumped ship. They view Orioles fans as lost, hopeless individuals. I am one of these Nats fans. I really dislike the Orioles ownership and management. I feel the Nats are doing it "right" and the O's aren't so much doing it "wrong" as they aren't doing anything. Orioles fans seem to view Nats fans as disloyal, treacherous fans. Yet they both are always giving each other congrats when they do well. It's become a very perplexing rivalry. One that, if both teams eventualy are successful, will be quite interesting to watch. Just wanted to give you some insight into local thoughts and minds.
Anon - now that's the kind of long term hatred I can get behind.
JDBrew - thanks. Now here's a question - if somehow Satan would decide its time to call back his disciple Angelos and the Os were to go back to the Oriole way (maybe under a Ripken ownership) do you think any of those wayward Os fans would come back? I assume it's really him that pushed fans away. You can stick by a losing team but not one run terribly by a terrible person.
I was feeling so good for Hairston and Morgan tonight. Especially when Nijer hits the game winner and gets mobbed. Oh yeah Rizzo is brilliant isn't he because we got Ankiel and whatshisname in CF all season. Yay....
But then after 10 minutes of watching Morgan over-celebrate (is that possible?) I remembered why the Nats traded him, even though...I still think it was boneheaded Rizzo move. (is that redundant?)
Anyway, thank God the Jankees and Fillies are gone! Brewers and Tigers...now there's a World Series for a change!

Hey Harper...where do you live that there's a three hour time difference in your blog?
Better not say Seattle...
Does this mean Redskin fans will jump ship? No! Don't use ownership as an excuse to root for the Nats. Wow!
