It's a reasonable plan. I suppose that if they can't pull it off we are looking at seeling at the deadline.
A bit sad that they need to play a team other than the Pirates now.
Have you shared this plan with Rizzo and DM?
Not likely. I assume they are sellers at the deadline and trade Scherzer (if healthy), Hand, and perhaps Schwarber?
Since the listed scenario is unlikely and overly optimistic, must we assume that the team will be a major seller in July and tank for a couple of years (chasing the away-losing-streak?)
Giving the fans nothing for the next 2 or 3 years makes it hard to support that team. (They were in last place last year, too, so are we talking 4 or 5 years of poor play?)
It will be hard to rebuild both the minors and the majors team. Rizzo was gifted with a "tanked" team (Harper, Stras, and others falling to him). Does he have the ability to build without tanking, or will he leave and sell himself on his resume?
